Jewel of the hanseatic cocktail culture

In 1997 Dirk Kowalke realized his concept for an intimate ‘American Bar’: Using space that till then had been used for wardrobe and public phone he carefully created an invaluable treasure of Hanseatic cocktail culture: the Oyster Bar.

Many guest meet here for an Ape`retif, others enjoy the cozy atmosphere that much that they have their menu directly at one of the wooden tables in the bar.

Here they are ‘spoiled’ by Richard Chaniewski, the most charming barkeeper of the extra class.

“Ricci” as guests and colleagues cordially call him is heart and soul of the Oyster Bar. He ensured that the new element in the Fischereihafen Restaurant  met the high level standard from day one.

His excellent and imaginative Cocktails, naturally including alcohol-free ‘Car Drivers’ for guests driving- have become legends.

And all his liquid creations are served with cheerful entertainment.
